TO PROVIDE SUSTAINABLE, RELIABLE, CLEAN WATER FOR ALL MEMBERS

Our SSCC Water Usage Goal is 250 gallons per day per household – (91,250 gal/yr).

  • SSCC is a community Class A water system established in July 1991, as defined and authorized by the WA Dept of Health (DOH).
  • The WA Dept of Ecology (DOE) has allocated SSCC a maximum yearly water use appropriation of 4,692,240 gallons, through 44 approved property owners well connections. This equates to 106,641 gallons per year per approved connection.
  • The SSCC Water Use Efficiency Goal established with the WA DOH is 4,015,000 gallons per year. This target assumes each of the 44 authorized connections use 91,250 gallons per year (250 gals. /day).

Community Information

  • SSCC has 44 authorized water connections
  • As of 4/1/26 only 32 connections are being utilized
  • Community is supplied by two reservoirs – one a 39,000-gallon
  • reservoir with full pumping capacity that serves 18 connections and another a 20,000-gallon gravity feed reservoir which serves 14 connections along Breezy Point Rd and Otter Lane.

SSCC water usage rates and fees

  • Water usage is billed quarterly based on a tiered water usage fee table
  • To encourage water conservation. Rate/fee details, maps, By-laws, WUE reports, and Annual Meeting information etc. are available on the SSCC Association website at: SSCCwater.com.
  • A quarterly Water Availability Fee of $135 is charged to cover yearly fixed costs and system maintenance.
  • A Capital Improvement Fee of $35 is charged quarterly to maintain a reserve for system maintenance and repairs.
  • Over the last ten years ending in 2023, SSCC water usage has averaged 1,827,941 gallons per year. In calendar year 2023, total SSCC water usage was 1,564,100 gallons, for an average of 57,930 gallons per meter in use (only 27 of 32 meters are currently utilized by members).
  • The most recent Proof of Appropriation water usage extension request, submitted to the DOE in June 2024, seeks to preserve/extend SSCC’s 4,692,240-gallon water usage appropriation right (Water Right G1- *01330 granted in 1991).

Water Rates:

  • SSCC water usage fees are billed quarterly and based on the tiered gallon usage fee table below to encourage water conservation. In addition, a quarterly Water Availability Fee and Capital Improvement Fee will be charged to all members.
    • For 2024, the quarterly Water Availability Fee is $120 and the Capital Improvement Fee is $30.
    • For 2025, a quarterly Water Availability Fee is $130 and the Capital Improvement Fee is $35.
    • For 2026, the quarterly Water Availability Fee is $135 and the Capital Improvement Fee is $35.
